ZINOTIC is a topical otic agent indicated for the treatment of common infections of the outer ear canal and for the associated pain and itch.
About ZINOTIC
ZINOTIC contains three unique ingredients designed to effectively treat AOE infections while addressing the pain and restoring the damaged lining of the ear canal – all with one simple solution. ZINOTIC contains chloroxylenol, a nonantibiotic, broad spectrum antimicrobial agent that helps to eradicate key bacteria and fungi (including yeast) most often causing outer ear infections. ZINOTIC also contains the lowest effective dose of pramoxine HCl, a pain reliever that works to rapidly relieve the pain of AOE within 2-6 minutes of application. ZINOTIC also contains zinc acetate, a skin protectant designed to help restore the lining of the outer ear canal. ZINOTIC is a unique product and is available by prescription only. ZINOTIC is available at all retail pharmacies throughout the US.
ZINOTIC is not an antibiotic and does not contribute to bacterial resistance.
Applying ZINOTIC
Before applying ZINOTIC, the person giving the drops should wash his/her hands. The person receiving ZINOTIC should have the external ear canal of the infected ear gently cleansed and dried with a clean cotton applicator.
The person receiving ZINOTIC should lie on their side with the infected ear facing upward. |
 |
Gently squeeze the appropriate number of ZINOTIC drops into the affected ear. Try not to touch the tip of the applicator. |
 |
The person administering ZINOTIC should gently pull the outer earlobe upward and backward. The patient should lie with the affected ear upward for 5 minutes. |
 |
These steps will help ZINOTIC penetrate the ear canal.
